| General Damages |
| General damages are calculated on the basis of your injury sustained. The trauma, pain and suffering and any ongoing disability in connection with that accident or injury. Overall it depends on the nature of the injury and the period it takes to recover. |
| This is assessed by a medical examination prepared by a medical specialist in a report and presented to the appointed claims solicitor. This will include any affects to your general lifestyle, such as sports or hobbies, not being able to play with your kids, reduced social activities etc. |

| Special Damages |
| Special damages covers out-of-pocket expenses such as loss of earnings, medical expenses, travel expenses, damaged clothing and property or even car hire - anything which can be classed as attributable to your injury . As each case is unique, each settlement and circumstances is unique as well. You should keep receipts for any expense incurred, whenever possible. |
| You may even be able to claim for expenses incurred by a spouse or partner which have been incurred as a result of the accident, perhaps if they have had to take time off work to look after you. |
| Future Losses |
